Many of our friends and supporters, and even complete strangers, are asking
how they can help repair the damage.
While we would like to see justice served, so keep an eye out still, we are
starting to realize that we must move on.
To be direct and clear, there are three ways to make a supportive donation:
Please note, our sincere thanks for all types and sizes of support. Most
sincerely.
But - Only option 1 & 2 though can generate a government acceptable charitable
tax donation receipt.
Thank you to everyone, everywhere who has been on the lookout, sharing posts,
tweeting and re-tweeting.
To the newspapers and TV as well, thank you. You're treating this as more than
just news, and we (the youth, volunteers, and families) appreciate the support.
As of 6pm today, there is nothing new to report, and nothing has been found.
We spent some time with the police today, and have sadly learned that there is
likely little that they will ever be able to do to assist us.
"We'll call you if it turns up somewhere..."
Please, folks, keep posting, and keep an eye out for the goods from the trailer for sale anywhere, Kijiji is apparently well known as a disposal site for stolen goods.
With the passing of more than 48 hours, and today's wet weather, we are sadly no longer optimistic about our custom wooden KubKar race track coming back in usable condition (even if it was found), and must face certain other realities of this uninsured loss. Program needs to move forward, events still need to happen, kids still have to get to camp.
In the next week, we will be kicking off a previously planned group fundraiser, through the sale of Toilet Paper and Household Paper Towel. Given current circumstances, we need to give it our all.
We've been pressured to publish ways that folks can reach out financially to
help us - big or small.
Scouts, by desire and philosophy, never have their hands out. We work for what
we earn, we don't ask for free money, or handouts.
So, for that reason we will not solicit donations.
However, given the nature of this crime, that it will directly hurt the kids program, that it's simply helping to restore assets that were previously earned and bought... I think this might be the one time, to humbly say "Thank you", and facilitate people who wish to return a "good deed"... so more information on how we might accept donations, will follow.

Thank you!
Trailer belonging to Rob Merigold, on long-term loan to the 1st Binbrook youth, was stolen from my driveway, while I was in the house.
Between 2:30pm-3:30pm, on a sunny Tuesday afternoon.
If you see it anywhere, people should report to the police immediately. Dial 911 as the police are already aware that it has been stolen.
The stupid thing is there's nothing really of re-saleable value in it except for a bunch of stuff that belongs to my father, and our group's cub car track… :-(
Not to mention, the trailer is not insured, neither are the contents... as such insurance is near impossible to get... :-( this really sucks...
Contents - in case you see a Kijiji ad or them up for sale somewhere:
OBVIOUSLY - if you find something in an ad that's suspicious, please just contact me, or the police. Don't try and sleuth it out yourself.
6 x 8' sections of a wooden 6 lane KubKar track, with stands, and all parts needed to run Scout Trucks and KubKars :-(
Two 10’x20’ carport shelters, in their boxes. (only used twice)
Ryobi table-top bandsaw (blue & yellow, you’ve seen it when we make Cars & Trucks)
Ryobi table-saw and stand (blue & yellow)
4 boxes of glass jugs, pint and gallon sizes, older
Propane powered artificial fire pit, with cover (from Costco originally)
Portable baseboard heater
…and about 25 cases of Cascades Elite bathroom tissue… that one might come up somewhere, that’s unique.
Akela's hand-made, life-sized wooden Wolf, that Racecar's friend hand-painted for Akela and the Wolf Cubs... :-(
Miscellaneous camping equipment, but nothing distinguishing about it, other than "1B" on most everything.
Other things I can’t remember… doing my best, had been trying to clean things out here in my house, along with my mother-in-law’s house, and store them in there temporarily, as our new offsite storage space is not ready/dry/safe yet. :-(
Some photos of items on the list... to help folks on the lookout.
